It was an honour to meet the Honorable Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, Seniors, and Long-Term Care, Uzoma Asagwara at the Mount Carmel Clinic to discuss how the perspectives of Nurse Practitioners (NPs) can be included in conversations to make health care better across Manitoba! After completing a walk-through of Mount Carmel Clinic, Minister Asagwara met with members of the Nurse Practitioners Association of Manitoba (NPAM). The meeting was organized by Ellisha Thunder NP and was chaired by Ashley Carruthers, CEO of the Nurse Practitioner Association of Manitoba (NPAM). All NPs felt the Minister held true to the government’s commitment to be a ‘listening government’ and left the meeting feeling optimistic that their voices were heard and their ideas will be included in the government’s plan to revamp health care.

We would like to appreciate and acknowledge the NPs who informed the meeting agenda and content but were not able to attend: Raquel Veronica, NP; Amanda Hopps, NP ; Brittnay Palmer, NP; Emilita Daniel, NP; Torrie Stefansson, NP
